Mike Clevinger Strikes Out 10 Over Eight Innings
5 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger coasted through Thursday's 2-0 victory over the Tigers, pitching eight scoreless innings and allowing just four hits with no walks while striking out 10. It was Clevinger's longest outing of the season, as he'd yet to surpass seven innings in a start. Clevinger is now 10-2 on the year with a 2.72 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. His 36.2 percent strikeout rate ranks among the top five percent of the league and he's also been a standout in barrel rate against (4.7 percent) and xSLG against (.327). Keep riding his strong season to the finish line. His next start will be at home against the White Sox on Tuesday.
