Mike Clevinger Expected To Be Ready For Next Start
5 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (ankle) had a discolored and swollen left ankle on Tuesday after he took a tumble off the mound on Monday in his first start back from the injured list since April 7. However, the team is cautiously optimistic that he'll make his next start on Saturday against the Tigers. Clevinger was seen on Tuesday heading to the trainers room limping and carrying a walking boot. "It’s nothing serious, but you don’t want it to be something that affects his delivery. So we’ll keep a close eye on him the next few days," pitching coach Carl Willis said. Clevinger allowed five runs while striking out seven and walking three in 4 2/3 innings on Monday. If he's good to go this weekend, leave him in your lineups against the light-hitting Tigers.
