Mike Boone Impresses Again, Likely Seals Up RB3 Spot
6 years agoMinnesota Vikings running back Mike Boone likely guaranteed his roster spot with a strong performance in the preseason finale. Boone carried the ball 15 times for a total of 56 yards while also gaining 53 yards in the air on two receptions. Unfortunately, Roc Thomas (Boone's competition) hurt his ankle in the second quarter and only finished with four carries for 12 yards. After the game, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer mentioned that Boone "showed well all preseason" and it seems increasingly likely that he will earn the RB3 role behind Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray. Currently, Boone has no fantasy value, but his stock could rise quickly if something were to happen to either guy in front of him.
