Miguel Ullola Has Another Strong Outing
4 months agoHouston Astros starting pitching prospect Miguel Ullola tossed five shutout frames on Thursday and is beginning to break out of a slump at Double-A. Entering this game, Ullola carried a 5.40 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP across his previous three starts. Overall, through his first look at Double-A ball, the right-hander has struck out an eye-catching 127 batters across 101 frames while holding a modest 4.35 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Last summer at High-A, the 22-year-old struck out 116 batters in 90 innings of work. Ullola is currently placed as the 18th-best prospect in Houston on MLB.com and could push for a brief taste of Triple-A later this summer, given his elite strikeout production.
