Miguel Sano Belts 15th Homer
3 years agoMinnesota Twins first/third baseman Miguel Sano went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's win over the Detroit Tigers. Sano clubbed his first home run since June 21, a 411-foot blast that left his bat at 108.4 MPH. The slugger does have 15 first-half homers, tying him for 44th in the league, though it's been an up-and-down season, as evidenced by his underwhelming .720 OPS, which falls well short of his career average. Sano hits the ball as hard as anyone in the league, but a 36.3 strikeout rate and .197 expected batting average have cost him some playing time this season- and could continue to do so in the second half.
