6 years agoMinnesota Twins third baseman Miguel Sano (Achilles) returned to camp on Wednesday after having surgery on the laceration to his right lower Achilles. Sano will not make his season debut until May. He is wearing a boot-like contraption on his right foot and lower leg that is designed to take tissue stress off the injury so that it can heal properly. Sano is expected to begin a rehab phase next Friday before the boot and five sutures on the wound are removed by March 29. He'll then be able to resume hitting, fielding and running. The 25-year-old third baseman struggled at the plate and was injured last year, leading to a lost season. Infielder Marwin Gonzalez is expected to start at third base until Sano is healthy. Because of his power potential, Sano is still worth a flier in the late rounds of mixed leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
