Miguel Castro Continues To Struggle
1 year agoArizona Diamondbacks right-hander Miguel Castro was tasked with the seventh inning on Tuesday, trying to protect a 4-4 tie against the New York Mets. Things didn't go as planned, as the 28-year-old allowed two runs on one hit and two walks while striking out one. Castro was the losing pitcher, and he now owns a 7.20 ERA since the start of June. The nine-year veteran still sports respectable numbers, as he's posted a 3.67 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 19.3% strikeout rate with seven saves and nine holds over 38 games. However, Castro hasn't recorded a save since June 12, and manager Torey Lovullo looks to prefer Scott McGough or Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning. Fantasy managers in standard leagues can drop the former prospect.
