Mickey Loomis Has No Plans To Retire
15 hours agoNew Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said on Monday that he doesn't have any plans to retire this offseason and expects the team's front office to remain intact heading into the 2025 season. Loomis also said the team has plenty of confidence in quarterback Derek Carr despite the fact that he missed seven games due to injury in 2024, although he stopped short of saying Carr would be the starter in 2025. The first order of business for the Saints this offseason is finding a new head coach after they fired Dennis Allen in the middle of the year. New Orleans was a popular preseason pick to win the NFC South, but instead they finished 5-12 and last in the division. "I'm positive. I'm glass half-full at all times. Even in a 5-12 season, I see a lot of things that were positive that we can build on," Loomis said. "So I'm on the side of, man, this thing can go the other direction pretty quickly."
