Michael Wilson Could Be An Immediate Factor For Cardinals
1 year agoAccording to Arizona Cardinals NFL Nation reporter Josh Weinfuss, rookie wide receiver Michael Wilson is impressing his coaches and teammates with his route running and talent and he could see action right away in the offense. "Wilson benefited from DeAndre Hopkins not taking part in any of the voluntary workouts before he was released and Marquise Brown not being involved much this offseason, either," said Weinfuss. "That led to him getting a significant number of reps, which has helped him climb the depth chart to a point where he could be a factor in Arizona's offense from Day 1 of the season." Brown and Rondale Moore, who stand 5'9" and 5'7" respectively, figure to be the Cardinals' top two receiving options. That said, Wilson (6'2") could add much-needed size to the wide receiver room and earn a starting role. The 23-year-old was a third pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which is substantial draft capital. It also doesn't hurt that the Cardinals are likely starting a rebuild in 2023, so expect young players to be key contributors. Wilson may be worth drafting as a late-round flyer in deep formats, but his upside will be limited by a mediocre offense if Kyler Murray (knee) misses a significant chunk of the season.
