Michael Wacha Receives $6.35 Million From Cardinals
6 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Michael Wacha avoided salary arbitration on Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $6.35 million deal. Injuries ruined Wacha's 2018 season, as he made just 15 starts (84 1/3 innings). He was pretty good before his injury, though, going 8-2 with a 3.20 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 7.6 K/9, but his fantasy stock is on the decline following his disappointing season. The 27-year-old has never gone over 200 innings and doesn't miss a ton of bats, but he is worth a late-round flier as he attempts to bounce back.
