Michael Wacha Could Be Back in the Rotation Soon
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals pitcher Michael Wacha could be back in the rotation the next time the team needs a fifth starter. While it hasn't been officially announced, the assumption is that he'll take Daniel Poncedeleon's rotation spot. Poncedeleon has struggled with his command and has had three straight poor starts in a row. Wacha has a 5.15 ERA so it's unlikely that he'll be the answer the Cardinals are looking for. The team could add a starter or two before the trade deadline, in which case Wacha would no longer be making his way to the rotation. There will be more clarity on this and the whole Cardinals starting rotation once Wednesday's deadline passes.
