Michael Thomas Dealing With High Ankle Injury
4 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) suffered a high ankle injury in the Week 1 win over the Buccaneers, but it's an injury he thinks he can play through, according to sources. Nobody is ruling Thomas out just yet for Week 2, with an extra day before the game against the Raiders on Monday night. The No. 1 wideout in fantasy had just three catches for 17 yards, and he didn't get hurt until the fourth quarter, so his five targets were a cause for concern regardless of the injury. The 27-year-old should bounce back eventually, but it's fair to wonder if it'll come in Week 2 if he plays through the injury. Thomas is a must-start anytime he's on the field, but his status is surely worth watching throughout the week. Emmanuel Sanders and tight end Jared Cook could benefit if Thomas is more of a decoy in Week 2.
