Michael Pittman Jr. Leads Colts In Targets
1 year agoIndianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. hauled in five targets for 24 yards in the team's preseason victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. It was nice to see the 6'4" receiver deployed as the team's alpha, running some intermediate routes while also being targeted on early downs. However, the connection between him and rookie Anthony Richardson needs to improve, and should as the season carries on. The former USC Trojan profiles as a true X receiver and finished each of the last two seasons as a top-24 fantasy wide receiver. Now being drafted as the consensus WR35, he should be considered a flex target in the middle to late rounds. Still, Pittman's upside is likely capped due to projected rookie quarterback struggles.
