Michael McDowell Secures Front Row Starting Spot For Daytona 500
9 months agoQualifying for this year's Daytona 500 was held on Wednesday night at Daytona International Speedway, but only the top two qualifiers had their positions locked in. The rest of the starting lineup will be determined by the results of the Duel races on Thursday night. Joey Logano won the pole position on Wednesday with a time of 49.465 seconds, and Michael McDowell will start alongside him on Sunday in The Great American Race. McDowell posted a qualifying lap of 49.536 seconds in the final round on Wednesday night. It will be an all-Ford front row for this year's Daytona 500, as the manufacturer unveils its newest body style on the track.
