1 year agoKansas City Royals second baseman Michael Massey (hand) has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a left-hand laceration. Massey suffered the injury during Friday's contest and was absent from the lineup on Saturday as well. The Royals decided to place him on the injured list to give him the proper amount of time for the cut to heal. In a pair of corresponding moves, the Royals selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Matt Beaty from Triple-A Omaha and placed first baseman Vinny Pasquantino (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
