Michael Kopech Looking For Improved Control Tuesday
1 year agoChicago White Sox pitcher Michael Kopech will be in search for better control and command on Tuesday when he takes the mound in Los Angeles against the Angels. The hard-throwing right-hander has surrendered a whopping nine walks over his last two starts spanning just 8 1/3 innings. Only 46 of his 86 pitches went for a strike his last time out against the Rangers while his 11.9% BB% on the season would be a career-high if the season ended today. Kopech has pitched to a solid 4.06 ERA on the season but his 5.34 FIP and 4.37 SIERA are worrisome moving forward while he's also been bitten for a 1.76 HR/9 through 15 starts. He has a tough matchup on tap against an Angels offense that ranks fifth with a .336 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season.
