2 years agoChicago White Sox right-hander Michael Kopech is starting Friday's game against Calvin Faucher and the Tampa Bay Rays. The once-promising arm has struggled mightily this season, pitching to an 0-2 record with a 6.32 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 19.7% strikeout rate, and 14.1% walk rate. To make matters worse, Kopech has allowed seven homers in just 15.2 innings, leading to a 9.38 FIP. The 26-year-old isn't what made him a top prospect, as in 2022, he recorded just a 21.3% strikeout rate and 4.50 FIP over 25 games. Fantasy managers might be wise to give up on Kopech sooner rather than later.--Spencer Seguin
