Michael King Remains Shut Down From Throwing
3 years agoNew York Yankees pitcher Michael King (finger) saw a hand specialist on Tuesday and it has been determined he will be shut down from throwing for another week, according to Lindsey Adler of The Athletic. King smashed his finger between weights at the team's facilities and has been sidelined for nearly a month at this point. Prior to the injury, King was 0-4 with a 3.72 ERA, 1.386 WHIP and 22 percent strikeout rate over 48 1/3 innings of work. Manager Aaron Boone says that the team doesn't believe it is anything serious, but that he will have to remain shut down for now and eventually have to be built back up. At this point, outside of deeper formats, there's no reason to wait for King to return.
