Michael King Fractures Elbow, Likely Done For The Year
2 years agoNew York Yankees right-hander Michael King (elbow) has been diagnosed with a fractured right elbow and he is expected to miss the remainder of the 2022 season. King suffered the injury during Friday night's game against the Baltimore Orioles. It occurred during a pitch to Ramon Urias in the eighth inning. King instantly started favoring his right arm after the pitch. He was removed from the game after being looked at by trainers. King has been fantastic this season, pitching to a 2.29 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP while recording 16 holds across 34 appearances. The Yankees will now need to lean more on other relievers like Jonathan Loaisiga and Aroldis Chapman in front of closer Clay Holmes, though it's also likely the team adds another solid bullpen arm before the trade deadline.
