Michael King Earns Four-Out Save Monday
2 years agoNew York Yankees relief pitcher Michael King rebounded from his last appearance and picked up his third save of the season in Monday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays. King came in to pitch the eighth inning up by three with two outs and runners on second and third. He got out of the jam with a groundout and stayed on to pitch the ninth, delivering a 1-2-3 inning on three more groundouts. The 27-year-old has stepped into higher-leverage situations lately after Clay Holmes failed to perform well in the closer's role and has converted all three save opportunities with a 2.38 ERA and a 9.53 K/9 rate. Additionally, the Yankees have not been afraid to have him pitch multiple innings. Based on his performance and increased role, King looks like the arm to roster in fantasy leagues at this time.
