Michael Harris II Will Be Activated On Wednesday
4 months agoAtlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker confirmed on Monday that outfielder Michael Harris II (hamstring) will be activated from the 60-day injured list on Wednesday. Harris will make his long-awaited return to the Braves' big-league roster after being sidelined since June 15 due to a left-hamstring strain. The 23-year-old could be eased into duties in center field upon his return, but by the end of the season, he should regain starting center-field duties. If Harris is floating around your league's waiver wire, scoop him up immediately. The former third-round pick in 2019 was hitting just .250 (65-for-260) with five homers, 20 RBI and eight steals in 67 games before his injury, but Harris slashed .293/.331/.477 with an .808 OPS, 18 homers and 20 steals in 2023. His return is going to push the left-handed-hitting Jarred Kelenic back into a platoon role in a corner-outfield spot.
