Michael Fulmer's Struggles Continue Monday
2 years agoChicago Cubs reliever Michael Fulmer fell victim to the Houston Astros lineup on Monday when he gave up a two-run home run while trying to preserve a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning and ended up with the loss, his third of the year. He also struck out and walked a batter over 0.2 innings. The 2023 season hasn't been pretty for Fulmer, who owns a 7.50 ERA and 1.56 WHIP over 18 innings. The only bright spot is his 26.6% strikeout rate, but that isn't enough to negate his poor ratios. Coming into the year, Fulmer was a candidate for the closer role, but he hasn't registered a save since April 7 and likely won't be trusted with the ninth inning for the foreseeable future. Fantasy managers can feel comfortable dropping the 30-year-old in all formats.
