Michael Conforto Goes Yard on Monday
6 years agoNew York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto went 1-for-3 with a solo home run on Monday in a loss to the Chicago Cubs. Conforto took left-hander Jon Lester deep in the second inning. It was a welcoming sign for the 25-year-old who has been brutal the last several weeks. Since August 17, Conforto is hitting just .139 with two extra-base hits and six RBI. He has struck out in 15-of-36 at-bats during that stretch. It's hard to trust Conforto on a daily basis unless you are fishing for an occasional long ball.
