Mets Hoping To Have Robinson Cano Back This Year
5 years agoNew York Mets general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said that the club is hoping that second baseman Robinson Cano (hamstring) will "be able to join us well before the season ends." Cano has been hitting indoors and out, taking ground balls and running. The veteran infielder suffered a partially torn left hamstring on Aug. 5, so even if he makes a return in September, fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on him. The 36-year-old has dealt with multiple injuries in his first year with the Mets and has underwhelmed by hitting .252/.295/.415 with 10 home runs and 32 RBI in 86 games. You should be leaving him to the waiver wire the rest of the way.
