Mets Finalizing Deal To Acquire Jesse Winker
4 months agoThe New York Mets are finalizing a deal that would bring in outfielder Jesse Winker from the Washington Nationals. The trade is contingent upon all of the players involved to pass a physical. Winker would presumably provide outfield depth as they already have Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil patrolling the corner outfield spots that Winker is accustomed to playing, but he could also spell J.D. Martinez at designated hitter. The 30-year-old is having a solid year to this point, posting a .257-11-45-51-14 line with a .350 wOBA and 127 wRC+, which would look even better if not for a poor-hitting month of May.
