Memphis Grizzlies Trade Up For Brandon Clarke
5 years agoWith the 21st pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies — after a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder — have selected Gonzaga forward Brandon Clarke. Clarke was an incredible rim protector and interior scorer for Gonzaga last year, shooting 68 percent from the floor, mainly through a combination of cuts and post moves. Clarke also has the ability to defend any position, something that should be useful on a young Grizzlies team. He’ll pair well with Grizzlies big Jaren Jackson Jr., a skilled player inside and out, which will allow the Grizzlies to play the two together without too many spacing worries. Clarke’s NBA numbers won’t wow anyone, but he’ll be a solid contributor and should be someone that fantasy owners keep an eye on during Summer League and the preseason to see how his game is working.
