Melvin Gordon Waiting On Chargers
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, who is almost five weeks into his contract holdout, said he's "just waiting on the call" from the team while he continues to train on his own in California and Florida. According to a source, both sides remain millions of dollars apart in negotiations. Gordon continues to say that he will hold out into the regular season if he doesn't get a new deal to his liking. His agent, Damarius Bilbo, also requested a trade for his client earlier this month after the team remained at their initial offer of around $10 million per year. Gordon is a two-time Pro Bowler and has 28 rushing touchdowns in the last three years, tying him with Ezekiel Elliott. Before his holdout, Gordon was set to be a strong RB1 choice, perhaps even in the first round. He's fallen to No. 18 on the RB list at RotoBaller and has become a big fantasy risk. If Gordon sits out regular season games, Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson will both become much more valuable.
