Melvin Gordon Hoping To Get Contract Done Soon
5 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, who is in the final year of his rookie deal, said his representation has had preliminary talks on a contract extension and he's hopeful that something can get done soon. However, he didn't dismiss the possibility of not playing in 2019 if no deal is agreed on by the start of the regular season. The 26-year-old is scheduled to make $5.6 million this year. The 2015 first-round pick has 38 total touchdowns since the start of 2016, which trails only Todd Gurley (46). He's also had three straight seasons of at least 1,200 scrimmage yards and 10 total touchdowns. Gordon is a no-brainer RB1 in fantasy.
