Melvin Gordon III Determined To Prove He Still Belongs
1 year agoBaltimore Ravens running back Melvin Gordon III had a shaky 2022 campaign, rushing 90 times for just 318 yards (3.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while catching 25 passes for 223 yards. Gordon fumbled five times and was released as the Broncos season went downhill. He then signed with the Kansas City Chiefs but did not log a snap for the Super Bowl champions. Now, Gordon is eager to prove he still belongs. "I'm happy that I get to put on a jersey and represent an organization. I'm excited because I could be at home wondering what I'm going to do next. I have some things lined up, but I'm not ready to give my dream up right now," said Gordon. "When I get the ball in my hands and I get to do my thing, I've got to show them why I'm still valuable." Gordon could see plenty of playing time with J.K. Dobbins starting training camp on the PUP list and reportedly being unhappy with his contract. Most signs point toward new offensive coordinator Todd Monken using a running-back-by-committee approach, so Gordon could have one more season of fantasy football intrigue.
