New York Jets wide receiver Mecole Hardman (groin) said he's ahead of schedule after surgery, which took place around a month ago. He's hoping to be fully healthy before organized team activities begin. Hardman signed a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Jets on Wednesday. The 25-year-old pass-catcher played in only eight games with the Kansas City Chiefs last year due to his core injury, catching 25 of 34 targets for 297 yards and four touchdowns. Hardman's speed is intriguing, but it remains to be seen how big of a role he'll have with Gang Green in an offense that also includes wideouts Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Corey Davis. There are rumblings that the Jets could also sign Odell Beckham Jr.--Keith Hernandez
