Mechanical Adjustments Serving Mike Trout Well
4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout has made some mechanical adjustments at the plate, including being more squared in the batter's box. He's gone 13-for-33 to start the year, and his swings are looking more short and powerful than ever. Heading into Tuesday's action, Trout is sporting a .394/.545/.848 slash line with three doubles, four home runs, eight RBI and 11 walks. Is it really surprising to see the three-time American League MVP start off the season hot, though? He currently ranks in the top 10 in Wins Above Replacement, average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage, but we expect him to remain there all season long. While Trout wasn't the consensus top overall fantasy pick this year, he's still considered the best player in the game by many.
