6 years agoWashington Nationals right-hander Max Scherzer will toe the rubber on Friday against the Chicago Cubs at home. Scherzer has not gotten off to a great start, at least in terms of ERA. The veteran sports a 2-4 record with a 3.64 ERA, but his advanced stats paint a more optimistic picture. Scherzer's FIP sits at an elite 2.25. Part of the reason for the bloated ERA is Scherzer's unlucky .361 BABIP. The Cubs are never an easy matchup, but Scherzer is one of the most dominant pitchers in his home park and is due for positive regression. Don't overthink it with the ace.--Adam
