Max Meyer Charged With Five Runs In MLB Debut
2 years agoMiami Marlins right-hander Max Meyer wound up with an ugly line in his MLB debut against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday. He pitched 5 1/3 innings and gave up seven hits, one walk and five earned runs while striking out five. He was tagged for two home runs in the game. It's also worth noting that the final two runs he was charged with came in after he was taken out of the game. Despite the underwhelming line, Meyer showed some promising signs. He had a 29.1% CSW% and his primary pitch, his slider, generated a 41.2% whiff rate. He's likely to remain in the team's rotation at least for now and due to his high upside, he should be held onto in all fantasy formats.
