Max Fried Exits After Being Hit By A Comebacker
3 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried (hamstring) was hit in his right hamstring by a comebacker off the bat of Washington Nationals designated hitter Nelson Cruz in the sixth inning of Wednesday's game. He initially stayed in the game, but wound up being pulled a few batters later - after giving up two straight singles. After the game, Fried told reporters that he was fine. There's no reason at this point to think he won't be able to make his next start on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In total, Fried pitched 5 1/3 innings on Wednesday and allowed seven hits, no walks and three runs (two earned) while striking out four. He earned his second loss of the year as the Braves were defeated 3-1.
