Max Fried Could Make Rehab Start In Coming Days
6 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Max Fried (groin) could be making a rehab start soon. Fried was placed on the disabled list on August 8, but just five days later he's already shown signs of progress. Due to his quick progression from a left groin strain, he might be in line for a rehab start at Triple-A Gwinnett. The 24-year-old Fried went 1-4 with a 3.14 ERA before going down. He has nasty stuff though, as evidenced by his 36 strikeouts in just five games. Fried's progression will probably mean that pitching prospect Touki Toussaint's days on the major league rotation are numbered (he's set to start against the Miami Marlins on Monday), but both pitchers have great value in dynasty leagues.
