Mavericks Acquire Grant Williams Via Sign-And-Trade
1 year agoThe Dallas Mavericks are acquiring forward Grant Williams in a three-way sign-and-trade deal on Wednesday. The 24-year-old restricted free agent wasn't allowed to sign offer sheets until July 6th, but the teams found a way around it. Williams has reportedly agreed to a contract worth $54 million over four years. In exchange, the Celtics will receive two future second-round picks for Williams. Also, the San Antonio Spurs receive Reggie Bullock and an unprotected pick swap with the Mavericks in 2030. This was a good move for the Celtics who had Williams stuck in an inconsistent role in Boston. Last season, he averaged a career-high 8.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 25.9 minutes per game. He should be able to find himself with a better role in Dallas, which will hopefully lead to reliable fantasy value.
