Matthew Stafford Picks It Up Against Weak Opponent
2 years agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 26-of-33 pass attempts for 253 yards and a touchdown and an interception in the Rams' 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. His 96.1 passer rating was his highest of the past three weeks. After two straight games in which he was sacked five or more times in each, he was at ease against the less-than-threatening Panthers. The NFL's most sacked QB going into the game was only taken down once and hit three times. He also ran the ball two times for a net loss of three yards. It could be a positive development that off-season addition Allen Robinson II, who made five catches for 63 yards, was finally involved in the offense. As of Sunday night, Stafford ranks as the QB17 for Week 6. Next week, the Rams have their bye. They will have to rest and regroup before a Week 8 rematch with the 49ers, who wrecked them in Week 4.
