Matthew Stafford Disappoints In Thanksgiving Loss
4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford completed 28 of 42 passes for 295 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Lions 41-25 loss to the Texans on Thanksgiving. The Lions offense simply is not the same without star receiver Kenny Golladay (hip), and a strong first half was wasted by stagnant offensive play in the second half. The veteran also was the victim of a fantastic interception by Texans star defensive end J.J. Watt, who took it to the house for a 19-yard touchdown. Stafford was able to rack up some passing yards with the game out of reach but consistently struggled in the red zone. Stafford will continue to lack QB1 appeal heading into Week 13.
