2 years agoMatthew NeSmith returns to the Valspar Championship for his third career start at the event. NeSmith has recorded top-25 finishes in both starts and has a best finish of third last season. His third-place finish last season kicked off a good stretch for NeSmith, making nine of his next ten cuts after that. However, looking back at this season, NeSmith has struggled coming into Valspar, missing six of his last eight cuts, dating back to the fall swing. In his last 14 rounds on tour, NeSmith only has two rounds under 70, highlighting the tough stretch of late. However, even with the struggles, NeSmith is still inside the top-100 on tour in strokes gained total, approach, and putting. If NeSmith can find any consistency with his driver this week, he has potential as a value play in Florida. --Kasey Kuhrts - RotoBaller
