6 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson (hand) was hitting soft toss on Monday. Manager Bob Melvin said that Olson will do that for the next week and should be ready for a rehab assignment after that. Olson will travel with the team on their upcoming road trip. The left-handed slugger needed surgery on his hamate bone and won't be back until next month, but he should remain stashed in all leagues after hitting a combined 43 home runs the previous two seasons. Don't be surprised if his power is slow to return after his injury, though, so his fantasy owners will need to be patient.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
