Matt Manning Earns His Third Win On Thursday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matt Manning notched his second quality start of the year in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. He pitched six innings and allowed eight hits, no walks and three earned runs while striking out two. He earned the win to improve to 3-5 on the year. It was a solid bounce-back start after he allowed six earned runs to the Cleveland Indians in his previous start before this one. It was announced on Thursday that Manning would pitch on extended rest for the remainder of the year along with the team's other starters. He'll take a 6.10 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP into his next start, which should be against the Los Angeles Angels next Thursday.
