After a promising start to the WGC-Mexico Championship, Matt Kuchar suffered a weekend implosion that sent him tumbling down the leaderboard. The veteran opened with rounds of 66 and 67, and sat in second place through 54 holes. A brutal third-round 79 seemingly came out of nowhere to take him out of contention at Chapultepec and a Sunday 74 led Kuchar to a 50th-place finish in the short-field event. While the weekend collapse was unexpected, it's possible that the 40-year-old just ran out of steam. The WGC-Mexico was Kuchar's sixth event of 2019. He will skip this week's Honda Classic to rest and recharge. --Joe Nicely - RotoBaller
