Matt Koch Loses In Rough Outing
6 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starter Matt Koch (5-4) took the loss on Tuesday night, giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks over 5 2/3 innings against the Angels. Koch was pitching well until the fifth inning, where he hit two batters and allowed a three-run single off the bat of Mike Trout. Koch has now allowed multiple home runs in three consecutive starts and has surrendered five runs in three of his last five outings. He also failed to strike out a batter for the third time this season. After a good run of starts in April and May, Koch is starting to fall apart, as his ERA is up to 4.40. When Robbie Ray and Shelby Miller return, Koch will likely lose his spot in the rotation.
