Matt Kemp Unlikely To Start Today's Doubleheader
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp (leg) is likely to sit out both games of Saturday's doubleheader against the Giants. He was removed in the fourth inning of Friday night's contest due to left quad tightness. Despite feeling the tightness as early as the first inning, he stayed in and managed to score a run off a Yasmani Grandal double. He was replaced by Joc Pederson shortly after that. More tests will be run on Saturday and a DL stint is possible. Kemp has been one of the team's hottest hitters, slashing .308/.352/.554 through 65 AB. Considering he was likely selected late, if at all, in fantasy drafts, he's returned tremendous value for his owners so far. But his health will continue to be an issue and draw skepticism no matter what he does at the plate. Owners should test the market to see if any Dodgers fans truly believe in his performance.
