Matt Duffy To The DL
7 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy has been placed on the 10-day disabled list for his hamstring injury. Outfielder Kevin Kiermaier was moved to the 60-day DL and outfielder Brandon Snyder was called up. Duffy might have been able to get back onto the field quicker than the 10 days, but the Rays were short-handed already. The extra time also serves to decrease the chances of Duffy rushing back entirely too quickly and injuring himself worse. Snyder is not much of a fantasy option. The main negative of Duffy's season so far is the fact that he is not drawing walks. In his last healthy season in 2015, he batted .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. Duffy's floor is fairly solid as long as he stays healthy. Duffy just turned 27 years old as the 2018 season started and should be owned in deeper leagues, especially in AL-only formats. While he is out, Daniel Robertson is most likely to benefit.
