Matt Duffy Homers Saturday Versus The Yankees
6 years agoTampa Bay Rays third baseman Matt Duffy provided the only scoring for the Rays Saturday versus New York. Duffy would hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to break up the shutout. It was his second homer in three days, but only his fourth of the season. Duffy's biggest fantasy accomplishment so far in 2018 is his .311 batting average. In his last healthy season in 2015, he batted .295 with 12 home runs and 12 stolen bases. Duffy's floor is fairly solid as long as he is healthy. Duffy was only 27 years old as the 2018 season started, so despite his slow start in the counting stats (runs, HR, RBI, steals), there is hope for a boost as the season goes on. He should be owned in deeper leagues, especially in AL-only formats.
