Matt Breida Has Mid Ankle Sprain
6 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Matt Breida's (ankle) MRI exam came back negative, according to a source. His injury is considered more of a mid ankle sprain, which is good news. Breida has also been fighting a variety of other injuries this year and has proven to be a quick healer. However, that doesn't mean that Breida isn't in danger of missing a game or two with his ankle injury. It'll all depend on how much work he can do in practice this week heading into Week 6 against the Packers. If Breida isn't able to suit up, Alfred Morris would lead this backfield and would be a volume-based RB2. Raheem Mostert could also mix in, but fullback Kyle Juszczyk could be worth a waiver addition in PPR leagues if he handles the passing work. Juszczyk had a season-high six catches for 75 yards after Breida left in Week 5.
