Dallas Stars winger Mason Marchment has been fined $5K, the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement, for interference on Maple Leafs defenseman Jake McCabe. Marchment delivered a late hit that seemed to blindside McCabe late in the second period of Wednesday's 5-4 Toronto win. The gritty winger is in the midst of a bounce-back season that has seen him notch 16 goals and 39 points across 50 games while adding 40 penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating to his ledger. He also has recorded two goals and six points over his last five games, including an assist Wednesday against the Leafs. The Stars had their four-game winning streak snapped in Wednesday's defeat.--Brenton Kemp
