Masahiro Tanaka Shuts Rays Out To Extend Lead
                
        
        The New York Yankees gained a game on the Tampa Bay Rays Monday night riding the arm of Masahiro  Tanaka. The 30-year-old went the distance, recording the fourth complete-game shutout of his career. Tossing 111 pitches, he allowed just two hits and a walk while striking out 10. The performance was his best of the season, as he completely dominated New York's main rival in the race for the AL East. With the victory, Tanaka improved his record to 5-5 on the season while dropping his ERA to 3.23. This is the first of two starts for him this week, as he's set to take on the Houston Astros Saturday at Yankee Stadium.
