Masahiro Tanaka Has Successful Rehab Start
Masahiro Tanaka (hamstrings) took another significant step forward Wednesday night, tossing five innings in a Triple-A rehab start. Pitching for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, the 29-year-old struck out four batters in a 69-pitch performance against the Buffalo Bison of the Toronto Blue Jays organization. The start came on the heels of facing minor league batters in Tampa Bay last week. After an early home run, he retired the last 12 batters he faced to end his rehab start on a high note. At this point, not much is left to be seen before he can return to the major league rotation.
